I have a very good customer who owns a machining business. Its not one of these "mills in my garage" business, this is an honest to gog machining
business that manufactures aircraft components. He owes me for some work I have done for him and he is very willing to help me out with some of my projects.
One of these projects I have him working on is a machined security wheel based on the first wheel from a set of photos that STUniformGuide posted under the Security Wheel post. Once he has something for me I will post a photo of it under this topic for all of you to critique. Your input is critical for this project.
Another project I have brewing with him is lightweight, metal insignia from the 2009 movie. I am trying to gather information on the delta badges worn by the Enterprise crew members, cadet collar device, and the delta badges worn on the Kelvin. I also need to find out what they were originally made of. I think I read somewhere resin was used. Still, I would like to make a lightweight, metal variant. I looks nicer and is more durable for wear. If anyone has any input on this, and wishes to share, please contact me. It would probably behoove me to start a new topic on the ST09 thread.
