I am afraid that PayPal is completely useless when it comes to recovering payments. A dispute needs to be filed within 45 days of payment; for most of us that
was 365 days ago.

Right now there is one from Threads by Gale I can tell you she does great work, the costume I got is awsome but there is some minor problems with it they can be fixed as I have with mine and I love how it came out. It didn't take long for mine to come in you can also get the pants from her too, I have some post on here of me making the corrections on the costume. If you do go with this I can help you with what needs to be fixed. Just a thought for ya lol. Brian

I, too, placed an order for 2 WoK style costumes, one for me, one for my fiancee. These were to be full outfits made in the more expensive materials. The
total for project completion and shipping was 1735$ USD. We were told at the start (May 16 2008) that they (SDC) would require 12 weeks just to get started.
Ok, that part is all well and good. They told us "should be ready" in August. August 2008 came and went, we moved and updated the shipping address,
and we were then told "should be ready" (hopefully) by halloween. October 31 comes and goes and then we're told "should be ready"
(anyone else noticing a pattern here?) by the end of November. It is now December 10 2008 and all my emails have been, thus far, ignored.
At this point, while i would still very much like to have my order processed, i would just as easily prefer my money back. They demand full payment up front, but then tell you not to bother them with emails asking for 'status updates'. Well, I'm sorry, but if I'm giving you 1700$, to do work for me, then that makes you my employee. And as my employee, you cannot expect to not hear from me if things are 'taking too long' or whatever. I just want to be treated like I matter, something small and simple like a reply every now and again, or a digital photo of the work in progress, emailed to me, so i can also estimate how much time/work is left to go in the project. |

It has been exactly 83 weeks today since I paid for my WOK uniform, and still nothing, not even the refund that I asked for. Does anyone have SDC's mailing address? I am currently exploring my legal options. |

I recently opened a dialog with Shadow Duchess, and she has gone a long way towards setting things right with me. Its only coming up on 31 weeks for me, but I'm taking things one day at a time. I won't fully 'relax' about this until I see some actual progress, but I believe that actual progress *is* being made. |

Hi, everyone. After my bad experience with SDC, and after what I've read here (that I'm not the only one) I wanted to know, whether someone knows, if
they are still in business... I know their site is still on, but Shadow-Duchess or MGM haven't posted for a while.. Can someone please explain ?

Could you elaborate on the situation you had? It's true that neither MGM or SD havent posted publicly for a while. I have been corresponding with Shadow Duchess by PM on these message boards. I should be seeing my order quite soon as she assures me that my order is 'in the home stretch'. Now I have been given expectations like this before, so I'm not getting my hopes up, but taking things one day at a time. For the most part, SD replies to me reasonably quickly, whereas in Steve Sorton's case (MGM) I havent heard anything back from him on anything i've asked since November 18 2008... |

Hi, my experience with them was the same as with all other unsatisfied customers. First, they'll answer every mail kindly. They answer questions
immediately (referring to measurements etc..). Once they have your full money (Reliable companies take a percentage like 50% or 2/3.), you just don't hear
from them again. If you write 5 mails, you get ONE back (if you're lucky). Delay after delay. I ordered my FC Jacket in April 2007 (and paid then), but
didn't receive it until 371 days later. (I did not think, that I will get anything at this time). But what I got for almost 400 USD was rather

I did see the pictures posted... I am starting to worry now, because i ordered 2 of the 'monster maroons'. The jacket part of your nemesis outift
doesnt look that bad, but the zipper placement on the duty shirt looks very unskilled. If I wanted a costume to look that badly i would make it myself
(as i have next to no sewing skill). The only thing i can think of, is maybe SD's medications get in the way of her sewing skills or judgement. She is said
to be in a lot of pain a lot of the time...

As far as the SDC maroon uniform, here are some pics of the one I ordered and received... these are pics that SDC posted of my uniform...
It was very poorly constructed and was the wrong colors... the inside flap was gold instead of tan, the jacket itself too red. The belt and pants were very nice, though the buckle is wrong in that it was the shiny gold plated version, the pants were the wrong material, though they were well made... All in all I wish I could go back and never order as it caused me about a year of stress, and in the end I basically threw $1000 away... BG edited for spelling

Well... I just got a message from Shadow Duchess saying they sent the completed costumes out (either today or yesterday, that part wasnt clear) and I have a
tracking number for the same. I checked the USPS website with the tracking number and it was returned as 'item not found'. At the bottom of the website
it does warn that items recently sent do not show up right away, and seeing as how this is the weekend, I figure I will try again by monday and we will take it
from there
Here's to hoping and I will keep everyone posted... |

I checked the tracking number on the USPS website, and everything seems to be ok. The package left Jersey City yesterday afternoon at local time 4:41 pm for
"international delivery". I will be checking periodically over the next few days to see where things stand...

Well I checked the Shadowdale website today, expecting to see the Wrath of Khan costume set to have gone up again in price, and 'lo and behold... its no
longer an option. All the other ST outfits are still available for order, but the WoK set, Jacket/shirt/pants is no longer available. Maybe they pulled it
because everyone keeps ordering that one, and they can't stay ahead of the rising tide....
Maybe one day they will offer it again, maybe not but we are seeing some changes over at shadowdale.... |

Shadowdale came through!
The WoK uniforms arrived today at 11:30 am. They look great too. Mine is a little snug because i filled out a bit from the time i ordered to the time i got it. All in all, a very good job. Pictures will be posted soon as i get some taken, and figure out how to upload them. To those of you who have asked me for privated messages with pictures, rest assured those are coming as well. Just thought that those others who also ordered costumes , with concerns about seeing things from shadowdale, i can say that at least in one case they did in fact follow through. |

Pictures are easy...First click on the IMAGE button on the top left (says your username/account then images) If you have no image folder create one...Then
Click the upload botton then click browse..find the file folder you placed the picture..click upload and your ready to go...Just compose a message and click on
the picture icon...very easy..

here are a few pics of me in the WoK tunic set as made by shadowdale creations. Overall i would say a satisfaction level of 98%. The time to completion was
rather lengthy, but at least i got something from them, and i think i happen to look pretty good...

There are a few issues with the uniform they sent you, but nothing near as horrible as what I had recieved...
Looks like they finally learned how to make the sleeves conect to the body of the jacket! Overall it looks pretty sharp... |
