Black Undershirt/ Kirk's Shirt

The shirts are H&M L.O.G.G. Original Tees. They are made out of cotton and are fairly slim fit. The best part is the long sleeve shirt was $9.90 and the short sleeve shirt was $5.95. I used Avery ink jet iron-on transfers for the Starfleet insignia. I printed up a light silver onto the iron-on paper, then cut out the insignia by hand with a hobby knife and ironed them on. I used some reference pics to measure where the insignia...

So here is red Star Trek uniform shirt 90% done, Just needs the collar. We found a fabric that had a bit of a pattern in it. Was a lighter red, so was the spandexy seam stuff, we had it dyed to be the darker red. I think it looks pretty amazing.

New Movie Belt

First off I'm new to Star Trek costumes, I have done others costumes in the past so I'm not totally lost but just wanted to make it known in case I say something wrong or misname it.

With that said for Dragon Con this year I plan to do a costume, but given the short time the movie has been out I'm having trouble finding refrences for props mostly the belt. Would anyone know where I can find some pics or know how close the new ones recemble some that may of been used in...

Hey everyone!

I don't know if anyone on here is from around the Philadelphia area, but if so you guys should definitely check out the Star Trek exhibit at the Franklin Institute...it just opened on Saturday. I think it should be here until mid-September or so. Anyway, they did have some uniforms from the new movie on display, and I tried my best to get some decent shots without getting too much glare...

Does anyone (Mr. Cawley?) know if the fabric used is "off the rack" colors (e.g. Royal blue, etc) or are they custom dyed?

I am not referring to the printing issue, but the base color as seen in the shoulder/collar trims.

Prototype Fabric Pattern

Hi, I had a look of that large pic of Spock to get a closer look at that pattern to try and figure out the shape, and I think they took at page out of the Superman Return's costume and have tessellated the ST emblem. I had a shot in Photoshop to try and recreate that pattern, unfortunately it doesn't exactly match (it's hard to see due to the curveture of the fabric and any possible shading on the print) but I'll tweak to match as closely as I can get.
